The PCMA workshop took place in Oslo in 2002. During two weeks the main goal was the formulation of a distinct material and construction agenda with PCMA materials. This agenda was based on specific aesthetic goals and a clear strategy for potential construction. The developed form had to be transformed into a prototpye which construction was based upon investigations in polymer composite materials´ characteristics in structure, aesthetic and spatial effects.

Synthetic Realities focused on the production of visual elements in material surfaces using polymer composite materials and offered to speculate on a range of surface effects in spatial design. These effects include various qualities that are possible woth these materials, amongst others: modulated transparency and patterning as well as fluent and complex geometry of the structural form. The result was a prototype of a developed form that is related to the characteristics of glas fibre material.
